Tingambato - Deirdre at the Top of the Pyramid

Tingambato is a small village about 30 minutes from Pátzcuaro. We travelled there by taxi, which was very inexpensive considering the distance. The village contains the ruins of an ancient cermemonial center dating from about 450-900 AD. It shows Teotihuacán influences and appeared well before the Tarascan empire. There is a ball court, which is rare in this part of Mexico, a pyramid, and an underground tomb.
