Rafael grew up in Creel. He worked in a hotel and played and sang in a Mariachi band. Now he uses his Suburban to give tours. He competes with the hotel operators who run their own vehicles and tours and is having a tough time making it because even though he charges no more, the hotels have a competitive advantage. He speaks excellent English, which he learned during his earlier days with the hotel job (most of the hotel drivers do not) and even sang to us while driving from Creel to Divisadero.
