Inside the ruins of Catedral de Santiago you can see what once was a lavish baroque interior. The church was founded in 1542 and damaged by earthquakes many times. It was destroyed in 1773 and only partially rebuilt before being destroyed again. It is now the site of ongoing reconstruction efforts.
