| Isla Isabela is located off the mainland Mexican coast between Mazatlán
and Puerto Vallarta. Its isolation provide an excellent spot for a large
colony of Boobie and Frigate birds. The Boobies nest on the ground all
over the island and the Frigates nest in the trees. Walking around the
island is like something out of an old Hitchcock film with birds swooping
everywhere. At one high point on the island, we observed the birds swirling
in the air currents and banking their turns using us as a waypoint. |
